This culutral center that protects the city, that protects the people, that is at a particular point in the city - it just felt like it [the name The Citadel] met these criteria of us trying to protect community, trying to protect culture, our placement in the city.

My Story

Khamall Jahi is a passionate community organizer and cultural event producer based in Columbus. As a driving force behind The Citadel, a Black-owned event space, he fosters culture, creativity, and community engagement in the South Side neighborhood. Khamall plays a key role in local initiatives, including Black Men Build, and is deeply committed to agriculture and youth development. His experiences living in California have enriched his creative approach, inspiring him to expand his impactful initiatives throughout Columbus and empower the next generation.
