Celebrating Everyday People

Columbus is my Neighborhood provides a platform to acknowledge and amplify Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) individuals contributing to our community. Through a combined public art and storytelling campaign, the program brings these everyday heroes into the spotlight to share more about how small acts, can have a profound impact on individuals, advocacy, and our city.

About the Program

Launched in 2020, Columbus is my Neighborhood provides opportunities to spotlight BIPOC changemakers in the Columbus community. Co-designed by Kendra Asiedu, Tori Burton, and the Neighborhood Design Center, the program recognizes that every effort to improve our neighborhoods profoundly enriches our community.

Our people-centric program is a storytelling campaign aimed at understanding the individuals nominated, the programs and activities that address needs, and the positive results these simple acts of kindness have in enhancing the culture of Columbus. The program utilizes social media platforms and public art as the vehicle to amplify our neighbor's advocacy efforts.

We invite you to meet your neighbors.
